The Hongkong Prize Opens Doors to Opportunity
The hongkong prize is one of the most prestigious awards that can open doors to opportunity. Winners are rewarded both with monetary prizes and access to Hong Kong’s premier research facilities, making this award a unique opportunity for scientists to advance their careers in one of Asia’s most exciting science hubs. Previous winners have ranged from a young man using technology to assist homeless individuals, to an artist interpreting human rights concepts through fine art.
This year, the HK prize theme is Our Changing World, inviting participants to explore global evolution – socially, culturally and economically – through various art mediums. Applicants who are Southeast Asian residents, mainland Chinese or from around the world can start submitting their entries on March 1st for a chance to win a trip to Hong Kong!
In addition to the monetary prizes, finalists will be invited to attend a ceremony where they will be presented with their award certificates and trophy. They will also be given the opportunity to share their stories with a wide audience, including journalists, media partners and the general public. This will allow them to gain further exposure and build up their writing portfolio.
Hong Kong is an energetic international center of culture and innovation, as demonstrated by the numerous festivals and events held throughout the city. The HK Prize recognizes this creativity and acknowledges those who have made significant contributions to society through their work. The judging panel of the competition has included local and international experts in various fields, as well as industry professionals and academicians. This ensures a fair and independent selection process, with no influence from any political or commercial interests.
The HK prize is a unique accolade that pays tribute to those who have embraced the spirit of humanity in their everyday lives and in their community. By recognizing these exemplary individuals, the HK prize hopes to encourage others to emulate these good deeds and make a difference in the lives of those around them.
Since its inception in 2007, the HK Prize has awarded over 100 individuals for their outstanding humanitarian contributions in six areas, including “Protecting life, Caring for the vulnerable, Respecting human dignity” and other important topics. This is the first prize of its kind in the region, and it has received positive feedback from the public and various stakeholders.
The HK Prize is open to all members of the public who are interested in Hong Kong’s development, especially those who are from other parts of Asia and beyond. To enter, simply click here to complete the online application form before 5 November 2018. The HK Prize is free to participate in and open to all members of the public, including students.
